Ski Bus Program - 331726

SKI BUS TRANSPORTATION REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN OCTOBER 9, 2024 at 8:30 am. This year the mountain is requiring everyone to register for package options directly through them, so you are registering only for transportation to and from the mountain and chaperones. Once you register with us for transportation you will then need to set up an account with Mount Southington to register for a package option. An email will be sent to you when you register on how to do this.

Please read the information about the program before you register, so you understand what you will be registering for and what you will need to do once you register with us. The Ski Bus program is an after school program run by the Madison Beach and Recreation Department and is not a school program. Any questions about the program should be directed to the Beach and Recreation Department at 203-245-5622. Our program is open to Madison residents only, for students in Polson and Daniel Hand High School. (6th to 12th grade). We pick up all participants at the Polson school by the gym at school dismissal time. It runs on Tuesdays afternoons for 5 weeks on January 7, January 21, January 28, February 4, and February 11. You can choose skiing OR snowboarding. The package choice you make through the mountain is the choice that you have for the entire 5 week program. If you must cancel due to medical reasons, you must provide a doctor’s note stating your child cannot participate and you will get a refund minus a $10 fee. We ski at Mount Southington as its location north of Madison allows for colder weather conditions and less chance of cancellation. If we must cancel due to weather conditions, we will reschedule the missed date at the end if at all possible. Helmets are strongly suggested by Madison Beach and Recreation and Mount Southington. Helmets can be rented or purchased at Mount Southington or you can check out local ski shops and swaps. Instead of tickets, your child will get an RFID card which they will need to bring each week. If they loose or forget their card they will be required to purchase another card when at the mountain for a fee of $5. Parents Please Note: Ski Bus in a chance for your child to have some independence. We make sure they get to the mountain and back, answer any questions they have and help them with logistics and finding what they need, but once they are off and skiing or snowboarding, we cannot possibly supervise them.

Program skips January 14 due to a blackout date from the mountain. We only pick up and drop off at the Polson Middle School and we will only be offering two buses.

Bus assignments are made after registration has ended and we do our best to keep grades together, however, if we have a majority of Polson students, they will be spread out among the two buses based on grade and whether or not they have participated in ski bus before and know the routine. We will not take requests for bus assignments. Any required paperwork and information will be sent in November and December. Package choices for the 5 week session are as follows: Lift Only = $215, Lift and Lessons = $300, Lift and Rentals = $315 and Ski Package (Lift, Lessons and Rentals) = $400. Bus picks up students immediately at school dismissal by the Polson Gym (for both schools). Bus drops off by the shed at Polson in the evenings at approximately 8:30 pm.
